Cambridge Advanced Nationals, our new Level 3 Alternative Academic Qualifications, have been approved for funding and will be available for first teaching from September 2025.
What are the new OCR Advanced Nationals?
The OCR website features specifications, sample assessment materials, mapping guides, and switching guides.
Who are Cambridge Advanced Nationals for?
Designed for students aged 16-19, our Level 3 Cambridge Advanced Nationals complement existing A Levels and post-16 study programmes.
These qualifications provide students with practical and essential skills, as well as the knowledge needed to prepare for higher education and university.

How are Cambridge covering the mandatory and optional units?
Mandatory units will be covered in one print or digital book (with individual or site licenses). Each optional unit will be provided in a separate digital book.
Are the Cambridge books endorsed by OCR?
We are working towards OCR endorsement for the Cambridge resources.
Do the Cambridge books cover the whole specification?
Yes, the resources cover the full breadth and depth of the specifications, supporting both students and teachers with this new qualification.

When will they be published?
Titles will be published between April and August 2025.
